Fix for Error: "Normal 0 false false false EN-IN X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4"

Mostly this error message appears when text is being copied directly from MS Word to Blogger. MS Word adds many special formatting/fonts tags which are not recognized by Blogger. Hence it leads to above mentioned errors. Remember, these errors are not due to blogger templates.

To solve this problem, for new posts, simply write directly in blogger editor. Or -  if you want to copy text  from MS Word, then there are two solutions:

(1) First copy text to any ASCII Editor like Notepad and then copy it again to post on blogger.
(2) Paste copied text to the “HTML” Tab rather than the “Compose” Tab of the Blogger editor.

Fix: Allow Googlebot to Crawl Your Blogger Page.
This can be the issue if you can not locate your posts on the Google search engine.

1. Goto your blogger dashboard/settings/search preferences: Crawlers and Indexing
2. Select "Custom robots.txt" and click Edit
3. Now copy/paste this line:
User-agent: Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow:
4. Save Changes
The "Disallow" fields have been left open to specify there are no crawl restrictions on your site by Google.
Check to see that the robot.txt is updated by searching your url address/robot.txt in your browser:
http://yoururladdress.com/robots.txt. You should see the updated robot.txt. Note: You may not begin to see your recent posts until the next time your site is crawled.

How to see only my posts in the Posts Log.
Put an ID tag in small print at the bottom of each post. I use a personal 5 digit number but it can be anything you wish as long as it is unique to your articles alone. Then in the post section, key this tag into the search box to display only your posts bearing that tag.

The Peanut Cart

My last blog, "Mixology of Life" was a splash into the splendor of  a 7 star hotel, the Burj Al Arab, in Dubai. The glimpse into solid gold paneling, arcing water of fountains, a single red rose and a city behind glass was an indelible memory.Optics and resplendence aside, I still harbored a fascination, a craving for fresh roasted peanuts straight from the cart, at street level.       I was aware that anaphylaxis was on  the rise possibly due to increased sensitivities to air quality, food stuffs and water quality, but so too was the new medicine. Small measured doses of peanuts could be administered to the patient within a highly functional medical setting.A careful and thorough monitoring of all signs and symptoms was the safety net to walking the high wire of building a physiology of resiliency against the harmful effects of the nefarious nut. My father went through this treatment years ago as a solution for the ambulance in the driveway and completely swollen breathing passages following a bee sting. The little pollen pocketed yellow and black striped insects of the fields and flowers became just that, for my father and our family,  as opposed to precursors to an alarming and traumatic reaction that was as deadly as a  gun shot.       Ahh science innovations and the consequential conquests can be so endearing in the battlefields of human health care.Even the most genuine of peace lovers can appreciate that fight.

In Montmartre, Paris  steps from  the Basilica De Sacre Coeur the wrinkled , amiable and carefree countenance of the peanut vendor was as welcoming as spring rain after a cold hard winter.Sunbeams glinted off the metal bars at his back. The chiseled, smudged gray stones radiated warmth in collaboration with the earthy enticing aroma emanating from the pan on the cook stand.      The place swirled with illustrious visitors, enticing characters, no doubt,  who had the good sense to flip the page, and gather in the reality of the steps, the narrows and open spaces of this historic, well preserved, spiritually minted edifice. From  behind radiated spokes of the wheel, and the fitted block of his  cart the peanut man flipped, adjusted and attended to the roasting process with an attention and ease that made time stand still   -not like the time you were caught in the maelstrom, as is often the case, but similar to watching children play, an elder smile, or noticing dappled light on a forest path.       When he spoke, the words were clipped and decorated with a melodic french accent and meaning was dipped in the chocolate of clear and simple as he explained the process in depth. The fellow, tied with a fresh apron newly splotched and crinkled  in the centre, lingered over the idea of keeping the temperatures constant, and the consistent careful rotation of the denizen of the deep, the well rooted peanut. The result was a  perfect taste sensation,   cart caviar of the streets from this contented gentle man in a fastidiously  tilted felt black cap and a coat of cultural data.

The essence of his simplicity embellished the colour in  the scarves and clung to feathery fringes of  hairstyles of  passerbyers for an  upbeat, rosy feeling like the red nose fastened to a clown or the moment you decide to turn off the mobile, if only for 20min.       The quick fix of phones momentarily set aside to give your fave five, the senses, a moment to dial in and your 6th sense a chance to get a little exercise.  Hunter- gathers of information portals, content, stimulus and digital connections do not ever really nullify their tech , completely. These days  tech  enhances our experiences when it remains a complement as opposed to an adversary or companion for life.   I say this while still respecting the craft and pleasure of peanuts roasted near the steps of the Basilica on a blue sky day, as this is a reminder to change directions or at least slow the run to a walk for a moment.

People, sauntered  haunted  and raced through the ramparts, steps and structures  arm in arm, in captured stills, motion, emotion, and or poised for reflection. The heights were  alluring as in Dubai  but the city was Paris and the views were formidable in the light. We were out of the fishbowl, rather the magnificent aquarium of one city behind glass, as beautiful as a starry night. We felt , now, like birds on the wing or perched on the buttresses with pillars of stone and exceptional architecture framing  panoramas. You could reach out your hand and feel the breath of the currents that shaped the clouds overhead and brushed the objects below.      The windows on cities ,behind glass or open air, are a boundless source of amazement, and yes, I would say cities are the personification of agility for human habitation, when well planned.

The peanut vendor standing tall behind his rustic cart shared his visions, there, at ground level of a peaceful peopled zone. He would continue to wheel his roasted recipe of arachnids to this location and that around the city gathering the pulse of the places. Now he would, engage with others over roasted peanuts and glance over his the layered padding of his shoulders, eye to eye with  the Sacre Coeur,  in all her glory. She had his back. The ornate wrought iron fencing were monkey bars for child's play not barriers .  His joy,  love for life and comfortable space in the crowd conformed easily to his surroundings. He reminded me of an intricate, animate and carefully designed puzzle piece fitted into the masterpiece of  the most complex and breathtaking jigsaw that was his city.

The Odd Story of Dame Alice Kyteler, the First Witch in Ireland

Photo © Kathryn Darden
The strange but true story of Dame Alice Kyteler of Ireland is a very interesting, little-known Irish tale. Alice Kyteler is recorded in history as the sorceress of Kilkenny and the first person accused and condemned for witchcraft in Ireland.

Born in 1280, Kyteler's family was a noble Irish family and an important part of the Kilkenny community. Alice Kyteler first married William Outlaw. She was married again in 1302 after Outlaw died. For a short time, Kyteler and Adam le Blund (husband #2) were accused of killing Outlaw.

When her second and third husbands also died, Kyteler was wed to John le Poer. When le Poer became seriously ill in 1324, he told people he was being poisoned and that he had found her chest full of potions and satanic instruments. At this point his children and the children of Dame Alice's other husbands accused her of sorcery and witchcraft.

What followed was a convoluted tale and trial built upon intrigue, family ties, politics, and religion all centered around a woman who had four husbands die under strange circumstances. The investigation led to the first woman being burned alive for sorcery and witchcraft in Ireland.

Josef Stalin's Victory parade at the End of world war II in 1945

The Second World War is receding from the minds of the younger generation. It is becoming more and more distant, but some events of that period can even now rouse the spirits of old soldiers. One of the famous events was Stalin’s victory parade at the end of the war. The parade took place on 24 June 1945 more than a month after the surrender of Nazi Germany to Russian commaqnders. it was a stupendous victory achieved at great human cost. The Russians lost 20 million dead and their contribution to the cause of allied victory was substantial. It was fitting thta a parade be held to commomorate this great victory The order for the parade was issued by Josef Stalin himself. Earlier as per noted historian Anthony Beevor Stalin himself wished to lead the parade, but then gave up the idea as the horse on which he was to ride unseated him. After that he commented that let Zhukov lead the parade as he is from the cavalry.
Stalin thus in his operational order appointed Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov as the parade inspector and MarshalKonstantin Rokossovsky as the parade commander. The organization of the parade was the prerogative of Colonel General Pavel Artemyev. The parade took place on a rainy day and later the fly past was cancelled. Stalin himself took the salute standing atop Lenin’s mausoleum. Units of all Russian federation groups as well as a small Polish contingent took part in the parade. The parade commenced with both Zhukov and Rokossovsky riding down Red Square on a white and Black chargers. A statue of Zhukov on a horse adorns the state historical museum in Moscow.Columns of Soviet soldiers and tanks sped past Stalin atop the mauseleum of lenin. The vigor and energy displayed by teh troops was exemplary. The high point of the parade was when at the end some 200 captured banners of the German army army were placed at the entrance of Lenin’s mausoleum. These included a personal banner of Hitler’s body guards. The parade highlighted the hold of Stalin and the contribution of the Russians to the Allied victory. The Emotional Tail Of A Friend For 50 Years Having A Heart Attack

When I was younger, I found a friend that I knew was special. We got to know each other, and we had disagreements, and even got into a fistacoff once. But because we had that fight, we learned a lot about our friendship. We learned that we are 2 different individuals, because we had thoughts about the same subject, but understood that values doesn't only go one way. From that point on, we both said we are sorry, because when it comes down to it, a friendship is worth more, then anything else. We played in little league together for 4 years. I was the pitcher, and he was my catcher. It was something special, as he was my battery mait. He even catched a perfect game I threw, when I was 10 years old. We continued our friendship , and ende up working at the same place in Brooklyn, at a local delicatesson. We had so much fun, as at the end of the night, when we stocked out the pickles, we just was zany, as we  had pickle fights, and throwing at each other. We made enough money doing this for 2 years, when we both decided to visit Florida for the first time. I was 17 and he was 16. I forgot to tell you, that his birthday is the same day as mine. One year  later, we decided for the summer, to be Camp Counselors at a sleep away camp upstate New York. We helped children have a wonderful summer, and we were both appreciated for our work, and to show all a friendship, that is truely special. That summer, my best friend met a woman called Leslie, and I kept our friendship close as possible, as he got involved with her, and got married seven years later at the age of 25. I got involved with a few other friends I met from the camp, and sadly my best friend and I parted ways for 2 years. We met one day at a bowling alley, and I told him I am sorry for feeling jealous of his marriage. He also told me he was sorry, as he was as much to blame for our friendship not being close, during those 2 years apart. We rekindled our friendship from that point forward, and never looked back. I ended up getting married to my first wife a few years later, and he was my best man. I moved to Florida in 1980, and stayed married for 18 years, until my values as a husband was not there any more. I wasen't happy as my first wife didn't care about being a mother to my first child called Melanie. Today this brilliant girl, lives in Washington DC, as the copywriter to Dow Jones.. Well it was a bitter divorce, as my first wife was to negative, and she wanted to commit suicide, and leave her own daughter. She said I am not a mother. Well she is still alive, but we don't talk about our daughter. Moving along, as we had visits from my best friend Harvey every few years, and we went to Disney World  a few times together in the ages. We talk baseball, and hockey over the phone every few weeks, and he came down to Florida and met my new wife Elizabeth. This may, my new marriage is going on 15 years, and I understood at that point, what a true friend meant. We are still friends going on our 51st year, and this friendship, despite all conditions, is staying as close, as any friendship could be.

One week ago, I got a call from Harvey's wife, and told me that Harvey had a heart attack, and is in ICU. When I heard this devastating news, I cried for hours, as part of me was being torn away from my heart. The next day, I took a flight, despite not having funds, and went to the airport to plead with them to let me go. Out of the blue, I got a call from my friends brother Bruce. He knew my situation was very bad, not only because of my Parkinson Disease I have since 2007, but because of my heart and soul meant so much for his brother, on our friendship, and th desire to always be there for each other, regardless of all obstacles that crossed our path. I thanked him so much, and he said what I did for you, was for a friendship that was made by God, and we don't want to take something away from either of us. He picked me up at the airport and drove me right to the hospital, and when I saw Harvey, it was hard, as I started crying again, and had to step out of the room. His Mother came over to me to comfort me, as she is as important to us, as she kept us together as well. He was in a Coma, which he was for 3 days. When all of a sudden, he heard my voice, and he woke up crying, as I was there for him, in time of need. Everyone was happy, and Leslie came over to me to hug me, because even his doctor told me, that it was a miracle, as thy didn't know if he was going to survive. I went down to my knees, and cried and prayed to god to thank him, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing him to wake up. He was coherent, and we hugged each other for a few minutes, and we both looked up at the same moment, to thank God once again, for allowing our dearest friendship to go on. It was 3 days later, that I had to go back home to Florida
, and we knew we felt in our heart, that our lifes and friendship together will go on.I thanked his brother and mother and his wife, for llowing me to come, and allowed me to sleep somewhere, and fed me as well.   The miracle of my friendship, will be deep in my soul, because God had let me live and for me to be where I had to be, when it was more important, then anything in my life, at the very deepest time in my life.

The Art of Seduction

Don Juan is recognized as one of the greatest lovers of all time. In all probability his love life centered on his charm and ability to seduce the women he desired. It was an act of tremendous finesse bordering on art itself and certainly is something which a lot many men would like to emulate. Seduction of women has been going on from time immemorial. It is something that has never been defined and is not something tangible. In fact it has a lot to do with the mind and emotion. A man would like to only seduce a woman who he likes or fancies. In that respect it is a part of sex and desire as well. Thus as desire has no bounds, seduction also has no set rules. Bear in mind that seduction is not gender oriented and a woman may also seduce the man she likes. However in case you do desire a woman and you know her well, it will be a good idea to get to know the background of the person concerned. A little home work would hold you in good stead. Thus do a little snooping and get to know her place of stay/residence, the members of her family as well as her routine of work and leisure. A very important point is getting a whiff of her interests and likings. If possible in conversations try and get to something intangible like her dreams and fantasies. Once you have the necessary details about the object of your desire, you can now proceed to the next step. Remember that coercion or other forms like spiked drinks and food need to be completely eschewed. The entrance of such elements will make the act criminal and can invite a charge of rape. More over it is not something a genuine lover will relish. Follow up by talking regularly to the woman. Make it a point to gift chocolates and flowers. Learn what she likes and offer to be her escort.Take her to a restaurent or for shopping. In short you must build up trust. Once you have built up trust the next step will flow naturally. The woman may even accompany you to your apartment or invite you to hers. Above all tell her that you love her. It should be the beginning of a romance. That is one ingredient that is essential to move forward. Seduction is an art that deserves a lot of finesse and tact. It is important that one keeps the susceptibilities of the woman or man in mind. Do not force any thing and let the act flow like the river Ganges, slowly and surely in a tranquil manner. Read more: http://www.bukisa.com/articles/344663_the-art-of-seduction#ixzz2vSiG48rv

Review of Mickey Spillane's Novel "I the Jury"

It’s 2011 and I went into  my  old college library and asked the librarian and old friend whether I could get Mickey Spillane’s book ‘I the Jury’.  It was my way of paying tribute to a man who set up the genre of the action novel. He rummaged and brought me an old dog-eared book. It was a 1953 edition and I signed for the book and took it home.
I read it in one sitting and mind you I was reading the book after almost 3 decades. I am convinced this book is the best Mickey Spillane ever wrote. It’s a pity he died in 2006 and not much was heard about him even at that time.
Mickey Spillane was a master of the art of creating a pot pourie of sex, love, revenge, murder and violence. He created a character in Mike Hammer, who in real terms was a sledge and a hammer himself. For the reader let me recap the story. It’s a simple tale of a man going out to avenge the death of his close buddy Jack who has been brutally murdered. Incidentally Jack had lost his arm in trying to save Mike Hammer during the Pacific war against the Japs. So Mike is all out for revenge and he starts from the last party Jack had attended. He hunts to death each of the attendees of that party with fiendish glee.
The killer is also hunting Mike and it has all the makings of a thriller par excellence. This novel is Mickey’s forte as he creates a heady cocktail of revenge and sex. We talk of Harold Robins now, but man you can’t beat Mickey Spillane. Can you imagine the book sold 20 million copies and created a character in Mike Hammer, who is hard as nails and loves with a macho’s gusto?
Jury small.JPG
I the Jury is I feel the best book Mickey wrote. It was also made into a movie and millions read this book. The prose is simple and the language earthy. Yes, there is very little finesse in it and the critics will pan him for it, but in I the jury he creates a thrilling tale and one can agree with Mike Hammer that crime does not pay.  How many know that it was the first bookwith the character Mike Hammer .
The book is now out of print and that is sad. Maybe people have outgrown the brand of sex and violence as brought out by Mickey. But who can forget that he was the man who launched a new era in the field of fiction. I think the best tribute to Mickey is that he was a writer who brought the period of guns, molls and crime so prevalent in America after the war alive for the reader. He mirrored society and created a man in Mike Hammer who I don’t think will die away. Not in the genre of Sherlock Holmes, but something more earthy, a hood who could tame a bigger hood.

English girl in Hindi Cinema: A New Beginning

Indian cinema is going global. Strange things are happening that have never happened before. Indian cinema never had heroines entering the screen from England and the USA, but that is happening now and the latest girl to make an entry in the world of Tamil and Hindi cinema is Amy Jackson. Here is a pure white blooded English girl, wearing Indian dresses and making it good in the world of Indian cinema.
Amy Louise Jackson was born in 1990 in the Isle of Man in England. Her father was working with the BBC. She won the ‘Teen Princess’ award in 2008 and came in the lime light. Immediately she landed a modeling contract for $20,000 that took her to the USA. She narrowly missed getting the Miss England award after being crowned Miss Liverpool.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRIEiQWrYG-V_PKLfQC-oL
In 2009, some Indian film producers saw her on a model website and invited her for a screen test. She passed the test and got the role of British Governor’s daughter in the Tamil film Madrasapattinam(1947: A Love Story), opposite actor Arya. The film was released in 2010 and was a commercial success. This prompted the producers to cast hr in Mumbai Hindi film. She has now debuted in the Hindi film Ek Deewana tha opposite Prateik, son of actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar. In this film she plays a Malyali Christian and is a remake of a Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The film appears to be a commercial success. Credit must go to producer Gautham Menon who cast her in this role
Amy Jackson is perhaps one of the first British girls to make it good in Hindi cinema after a success in Tamil films. She is also well educated and attended Edwards College. She has 2 Tamil films on the sets.
Amy Jackson in the Mumbai film carries herself with aplomb and looks fetching in the sari. She has some lovely love scenes with Prateik in the film, which are an aesthetic delight
The globalization of Hindi cinema is complete with the coming of a British girl in Indian Cinema. This is certainly a challenge to Indian girls to make it good in Hollywood. A beginning is made by Malika Sherawat and Frieda Pinto

The Pros and Cons of a War with Iran

The Scene around Iran

Some time back the U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta made a significant observation. He stated that Iran was close to acquiring nuclear weapons. Obviously Leon Panetta is a knowledgeable person and knows what he is talking about. The stage is thus set for a conflict. Western and Middle East intelligence experts suspect that Iran needs these Nuclear weapons for the furtherance of the Iranian brand of Islam and domination in its region. The Iranian aims possibly are
1) Destroy the state of Israel;
2) Spread the Iranian form of Islam (Shia) all over the Middle East
3) Destroy the USA which is considered as the great Satan and establish Iran’s leadership in the Middle East and the rest of the world.
It was anticipated that the main target of Iran, the state of Israel would launch a pre-emptive strike to stop Iran from achieving nuclear status. The USA was to provide the logistics for the operation and also keep the Strait of Hormuz navigable. Iran’s plan to choke to Strait of Hormuz that transports some 15 million barrels of oil everyday was to be negated by the US Navy. But this has not happened so far and as such one of the cardinals Principle of war, decisive and early action is not followed.
There are many writers who have been talking of a war with Iran and its eventual defeat as a biblical prophecy. This is arrant nonsense and the fact is that the conflict with Iran will not be decided by any Biblical prophecy. Israel on its own will not be able to subdue Iran. However efficient the Israel defense forces are, the numbers are heavily stacked against them. In addition Israel is in hostile lands with not a single friend to rely on in the Middle East. Egypt and Turkey have also forsaken Israel. Thus Israel has to bank on Uncle Sam and the NATO to subdue Iran. Here is the catch, will the USA intervene? Obama is a prudent man, who had opposed the Iraq war. Will he get into the war zone as the drum beats get louder?
There is also the question of Russia. But I suspect the Russians are not too happy with a nuclear armed Iran and may just shut their eyes for a short duration. The war with Iran has to be swift. Speed is of essence and no time can be lost. The Principles of Clausewitz must be followed in case victory is to be achieved over Iran.

What is the purpose of a Selfie unless someone has to be vain about REALITY and only show there side and not other sides

Ever since I started writing on Bubblews, I have never been afraid of speaking my mind, when it is relevant, to a post.  I shoot from the hip,and go forward, because I am never going to not go over the line, when it is important to all of us,as life is a true identity on a  belief, that means more then the post. An earlier post was asked about Selfies, and do you like to take selfies. Well maybe I am from old school thinking, but I also believe in life, to respect, and not show ones pride, is better then another human being. The respect of oneself to me falls by the waist side, as we are never to put our self above another living being. Society is about being committed to joining our cultures, our beliefs, and our values. So when somebody needs to show a selfie, it means to be, that someone has to be above the rest. We are a melting pot across the world, to join our approach to humanity. One has to approach a meaning, that is objective always. Now I am not against SELFIES,but what I am, is against not being objective, as a writer must always be objective, or they should never write, because it shows a one way path. So to regards to selfies and a post, it should be  looked up to be objective with both side of the fences, and not only a one way tract. That is the true meaning of a post.

Whats the difference between a one sided post and a two sided post

Let me start out by saying that there is a big difference between a one sided post and a two sided post. When somebody posts an article online, like Bubblews, most of the time it is a one sided post. Lets think about this first. What does it mean only a one sided post? The answer is that the person who is putting it online, is telling us his side of the post, and what it means to him, on the details that he wants to show relevance on.  Now a two sided post, is a post, when someone wants to show relevance on both sides,so that an understanding can be more relevant. You see, when a writer, and I mean a writer like me,tells a story to have you understand the perspective on the person it involves the story is about, and the objective to that side. A true writer to me, and it should even be more clearly to all on  Bubblews, is why write a story, showing one side only. The story is being discounted, with less material that should be in the story. To be an OBJECTIVE writer, you have to show your audience what is meant from the persons perspective on who they are talking about, and your side in regards why their is a difference. So my question to all, is how can a story be either factorial, or show true meaning, if you don't express both sides. This is a true objective post, and to be a writer with value, you have to have your audience, an understanding, that to come to an educated decision, you always !!!! have to show both sides. This is the point, of why there is a difference, and I hope by what I expressed here, in this post, makes it clearer, to help you write a better article for all.

Women are the Un-Safest in the United States

America is a great democracy, though flawed, yet in a way it allows people to articulate their feelings and desires. this is unheard of in many other countries like say China and worse in the Middle East. Despite this i am afraid that women in America are at the greatest risk than at other places. One would assume with free intermingling of the sexes and freedom of sexual intercourse between consenting adults, crimes against women would be less or negleble. Yet America leads the world in abduction of women for sex and rapes abound. The centre piece of these crimes is the Hispanic and the Black.
The Negro in particular is sexually strong having devolped as per darwins theory of evolution and survival of the fittest. He takes his sexual urges against teh white women who constitute the majority in the USA. rape of white women by blacks is much above the national average of rape in USA. Another point is the spate of abductions and teh police despite riding on Harley's and sporting guns are pretty ineffectual to nab the abductors. Many young white girls have been abducted and mae into sex slaves and the police have not been able to unravel the crimes for many years. this is sad and points to a dangerous lacuna in law and its enforcement.
I have been wondering about crimes against women in the USa. I have visted the USA often and have had excellent relationships with American white girls and women some of whom are friends even now. I jsu cannot fathom why theh should rapes and abductions of white girls be so high in the USA. One must have a look at the American mind. just as guns are an integral part of American culture, perhaps rape and abductions for sex is also in the same genre. Don't agree with me, but have you an answer? Published on my personal blog at Dracula fun

Reflections

No, I can't touch you... your skin is not you... I see right through. Your eyes like glass.
Marry me, carry me, lie to me... make me believe. I'm so in love... But what... the fuck... are you?
I can never seem to get... close enough. I'm constantly... chasing... the reflection of you.

Taking my breath away.
Making me think of you.
Everything...
compared to you... and FAILING!!!!!
Millions of others... between... you and me.
Even when... It's only you and me. And the TV screen.
Don't look at me... I'm not like you... I'm not beautiful... I'm only me.

No...
I can't touch you...
your skin is not you...
I see right through... I remember you...
When it was only... me and you.

Angels of Liberty...Final Thoughts...Endless Beginnings

With the finale installment of my Angels of Liberty interview, I have included many links to source material, with regard to Voes lyrical influences, and the massive background of information that is obviously a great passion for him. There are many intriguing topics therein, and I hope people pursue further study of some, at least.

This includes study of paranormal, occult, and higher consciousness, among many others. There are many interesting things to study there! Those not interested in such things may still be intrigued with the music, which is phenomenal and ground breaking in its own right.

To my knowledge, no other band has achieved the genuinely organic sound AoL has through the sole use  of electronic music. I see it as a new awakening for music in general, and it is profound to me that it comes from the realms of Goth Rock, and touches Gothic Culture in general.

From out of the darkness comes much light!

This is War

Imagine for a moment your struggles in life and try to understand the nature of how things really are. True, that was a very short statement with a very broad connotation. The short simple reply is that no matter when you arrived, there were others here before you. In the race for success in life everyone starts out dead last. One should never feel disadvantaged for being small. To reach your true potential you should not hope for a push over, but rather you should hope for the epic challenge.

A phenomenal band composed of an amazing lead singer and wildly talented musicians took on their corporate label for the right to play their music on their own terms. How do you think the story ends? In a perfect world, the band wins and the corporation folds. In a more predictable scenario, the record company wins and the band continues to go deeper into debt to the record company with each passing album. Pause for a moment. Consider the driving motivation behind both the musicians and the record company.

EMI records sued a band under contract to them for $30 million. Less than a year later EMI was divided up and sold by Citibank. The band which EMI sued has went on to sell over 20 million albums worldwide, yet, to this day, has never been paid a single dollar of the earnings from their music. Some would call this scenario mutually assured destruction in which both sides lost. To understand why this was not a loss, but was actually a victory, one would have to really know the band and its members.

With less money to his name at any given time than the average Joe on the street, the lead singer of this amazing band has touched the hearts and minds of millions. He and his brother, who is also in the band, have been poor their entire lives and don't really seem to mind it. This singer also recently celebrated winning an Oscar for best male actor for his role in the movie, "Dallas Buyers Club."

Success is not always about money, and it isn't necessarily even about winning. If you're interested in a twisted true life story of courage, dedication and success even while losing everything, I highly recommend the documentary, "Artifact: Thirty Seconds to Mars."

P.S. I purposely omitted the name of the singer. Had I said his name, you would probably have failed to appreciate the beautiful and talented group of human beings that comprise the band this famous person just happens to be a part of.

Sеаrеd Sеѕаmе Enсruѕtеd Ahi Tunа Stеаk Rесіре

Tunа іѕ truly an аmаzіng fооd wіth a numbеr of bеnеfіtѕ thаt соntrіbutе tо a healthy lifestyle. Tunа is rich in Omega-3 роlуunѕаturаtеd fаttу acids and hаѕ been known tо reduce the rіѕk оf hеаrt disease. It іѕ also lоw іn fat and сhоlеѕtеrоl mаkіng іt a great аltеrnаtіvе tо beef. Nоt only іѕ tunа a powerhouse оf nutrіtіоn, it іѕ аlѕо оnе оf thе most dеlісіоuѕ ѕоurсеѕ of lеаn protein thаt you wіll еvеr ѕіnk your teeth іntо.

Tunа іѕ аlѕо еаѕу tо cook. Itѕ a hardy fіѕh and holds tоgеthеr wеll оn the grіll, in the оvеn, or оn thе ѕtоvе tор. The fоllоwіng rесіре is one оf mу favorites аnd іѕ fаіrlу easy to рrераrе.

I mаdе this particular dіѕh the оthеr day аnd it wаѕ аbѕоlutеlу wonderful. Mу wіfе, who nоrmаllу dоеѕ not еаt bіg роrtіоnѕ, сlеаnеd оff hеr рlаtе аnd wаntеd mоrе, ѕо that is a vеrу gооd ѕіgn.

The thickness оf thе tunа steak you uѕе rеаllу dереndѕ on how rаrе уоu lіkе уоur tuna. Because уоu are оnlу ѕеаrіng the оutѕіdе оf уоur tunа steak, іt will nоt be іn the раn fоr very lоng. So the thісkеr thе ѕtеаk, thе mоrе rаrе thе center will bе.

I реrѕоnаllу dо not like mу tunа too rare, so I usually mаkе this recipe wіth thinner сutѕ оf tuna. Thіѕ іѕ just a рrеfеrеnсе, nоt a requirement. Many реорlе, іnсludіng сhеfѕ ѕау thе оnlу wау tо еаt tunа іѕ rare. I guеѕѕ уоu wіll hаvе tо be the judgе.

Lеt us move оn to thе rесіре shall wе?

Seared Sesame Enсruѕtеd Ahі Tunа wіth a Cіlаntrо, Gаrlіс and Lіmе ѕаuсе..

I ѕhоuld mention оnе thіng bеfоrе we bеgіn this rесіре . I dо not fоllоw еxасt mеаѕurеmеntѕ іn rесіреѕ. I measure еvеrуthіng by еуе, ѕо thе following mеаѕurеmеntѕ are оnlу tо be uѕеd аѕ a guіdе. Sо don't gеt too mаd аt me!

Thіѕ is optional, but I lіkе tо tоаѕt thе ѕеѕаmе ѕееdѕ in a drу pan fіrѕt before I put them on thе tunа. Thе seeds bесоmе nuttу and аrоmаtіс when уоu tоаѕt thеm. This іѕ hіghlу rесоmmеndеd if you hаvе thе time and is quite еаѕу tо dо. Sіmрlу hеаt a drу раn оvеr medium heat, thеn аdd the ѕееdѕ ѕhаkіng thе раn оссаѕіоnаllу. Yоu mау hаvе tо dо thіѕ іn bаtсhеѕ, dереndіng оn how many seeds уоu аrе toasting. Yоu dо not wаnt to оvеrсrоwd thе раn. Kеер an еуе on thе ѕееdѕ аnd mаkе ѕurе they do nоt burn. Tоаѕt thеm untіl thеу dаrkеn a bіt and start to bесоmе fragrant. Rеmоvе аnd lеt them сооl before аddіng them tо thе tunа.

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 Cuр Blасk Sеѕаmе Sееdѕ
1/4 Cuр White Sesame Seeds
1 Tаblеѕрооn of Sеѕаmе Oil
2 - 6 оunсе Ahі (Yellow Fіn) Tuna Steaks
Sаlt and Pерреr tо Tаѕtе

MARINADE/ DIPPING SAUCE

1/ 2 Cup оf Lоw Sоdіum Sоу Sаuсе (Who needs thе еxtrа ѕоdіum, rіght?)
1 Lime (Juice and Zеѕt - If you wаnt more lіmе flаvоr, add аnоthеr)
1- 2 Clоvеѕ of Gаrlіс Mіnсеd
2 Tаblеѕрооnѕ оf Honey
1 Tаblеѕрооn of Sеѕаmе Oil
2 Tаblеѕрооnѕ оf Frеѕhlу Chopped Cіlаntrо Lеаvеѕ

1) Prераrе thе mаrіnаdе. Add аll marinade іngrеdіеntѕ to a ѕmаll bowl and mix wеll. Rеѕеrvе hаlf оf this marinade in a separate соntаіnеr tо use as a dірріng sauce.

2) Get a glаѕѕ baking dish or оthеr nоn-rеасtіvе container tо mаrіnаdе thе tunа іn. Yоu want thе tuna ѕtеаkѕ tо fіt snuggly іn the dіѕh ѕо thаt thеу are ѕurrоundеd nicely with thе mаrіnаdе. Pour thе marinade іntо thе dish аnd put thе tunа ѕtеаkѕ in and kind of ѕwіrl thе mаrіnаdе аrоund ѕо thаt уоu coat thе fish wеll. Cоvеr wіth ѕоmе рlаѕtіс wrap аnd rеfrіgеrаtе. Anоthеr орtіоn іѕ tо роur thе mаrіnаdе іn a large zір lock bаg, add thе tuna, аnd thеn ѕԛuееzе оut thе air. Mаrіnаdе for 30 minutes to аn hour, turnіng thе tunа аbоut hаlf way thrоugh.

3) Rеmоvе tuna frоm frіdgе аnd lеt ѕtаnd at room temperature for about 20 mіnutеѕ or so.

4) Rеmоvе tunа frоm marinade, ѕhаkіng off any еxсеѕѕ marinade аnd drу on paper towels.

5) Hеаt a ѕаutе раn оvеr mеdіum heat and add 1 tablespoon of ѕеѕаmе oil. The оіl ѕhоuld bе hоt but nоt ѕmоkіng.

6) Whіlе thе раn іѕ heating, аrrаngе уоur ѕеѕаmе ѕееdѕ оn a flаt dіѕh. Roll thе tunа аrоund іn thе ѕееdѕ pressing down аѕ уоu roll ensuring thе ѕееdѕ are расkеd іntо thе tunа nісеlу.

7) Add the tunа tо thе hot ѕаutе pan аnd ѕhаkе it a bіt tо make sure thе tunа does nоt stick. Sеаr fоr 30 to 40 seconds оn bоth ѕіdеѕ.

8) Rеmоvе аnd ѕеrvе with thе rеѕеrvеd dірріng sauce.

Fоr side dishes wіth thіѕ recipe I usually kеер things pretty blаnd as I don't wаnt аnуthіng tо compete with the flavors іn the tunа. Sо I uѕuаllу prepare a ѕіdе оf ѕtеаmеd green bеаnѕ wіth a bіt оf butter, ѕаlt and рерреr or оthеr vegetable аlоng wіth some lіghtlу seasoned jasmine оr bаѕmаtі rісе.

Hope you enjoy and share with all of your friends

Memorable Music of the 1980's

What memories do you have of the 1980s? What music did you listen to back then? I remember a few hits from those days?

In the 1980's where I grew up in London, my memories consisted of me listening to songs from groups or idols like Wham, Duran Duran, Madonna, Spandau Ballet and Michael Jackson. What songs do you remember from the 1980's?

Duran Duran, especially, stood out for me in the early years of the 1980's, because I was a teenager and was madly in love with this group. They were an English rock band who managed to have many hits that made the Top 10 UK singles charts. Do you remember them?

Duran Duran sang songs, such as, “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Girls on Film,” “A View to a Kill,” “Is There Something I Should Know” and “Wild Boys.” I loved each and everyone of their songs. What really stood out for me was their videos. Watching them became a huge thing for me. Have you ever seen any of their music videos? Did you enjoy listening to Duran Duran?

What kind of music stood out the most for you in the 1980's?

Can You Claim A Parent As A Dependent?

One of the nuances of the United States tax code is the possibility of claiming a parent as a dependent on your tax return. As the population continues to age and life spans increase many adults find themselves financially caring for their children and their parents.

Monies an adult child contributes to the care of a parent can be used as a tax deduction in a variety of ways on your tax return. The first consideration is the amount of money an adult child contributes; at least 50 percent of the parents' care must be contributed to begin assessing where and how the care of a parent would benefit your tax return

Financial Contributions To Assess
  • Cost of the room provided
  • Cost of a care facility
  • Food, utilities
  • Prescription costs
  • Durable Medical Equipment Costs
  • Medicare Advantage premiums, long term care insurance, deductibles, co-insurance payments

The Dependent Care Credit, Multiple Support Declaration, dependent qualifications and medical expense itemization are important areas to consider when filing a tax return if you are financing the care of a parent.

Liberation of the Angels Continues...

I've thoroughly enjoyed sharing this delightful interview in parts, because it also allows me to share some my favorite Angels of Liberty songs and videos on each one. There is a video with each part, so I do recommend you watch them all, and if you like them, do subscribe to their YouTube channel, buy their CDs, and help me support this great band!

The song included with this part of the interview is very new, and from the new album, which is yet to be released. It is called "Our Tears", and to me, typifies the unique sound and feel that is all I love about Goth Rock.

Again, even if you don't like the music, there is something for everyone in these interviews. In this one, I have also linked to many of the bands listed as influence, so you can find anything from Iron Butterfly to Soiuxsee and the Banshees herein!

There is but one part left after this, and it will be a lengthy one, as we close out our journey into the mysterious world that is AoL. Voe and Scarlet still have many intriguing tidbits to share, so do keep following along, my friends!

Do You Remember a Band Called the Bay City Rollers?

I remember my early years growing up in the 1970s in London. Do you remember the 1970s? What were you doing during those years?

I have a memory of a pop group called the Bay City Rollers and the clothes they wore in those years. Do you remember them?

The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop band that were popular in the 1970's. They were the biggest group since The Beatles. I remember this because my friends and I idolized them at the time. They wore a new type of clothing, which I remember wearing. I wore check bottoms that hung just above my ankles. My friends were wearing them too. These type of clothing really stood out for me.

The Bay City Rollers say in the 1970's in the UK. Their songs flew high up in the UK pop charts. Young teenage girls swooned over this young pop group including myself and my friends.

The Bay City Rollers' songs stood out of for me during the 1970's and each of the tunes have a real significance for me. Some of their songs like 'Bye Bye Baby,' 'Saturday Night,' 'Shang-A-Lang'  and 'Be My Baby' really did stand out for me.  The songs each bring back a memory for me when I listen to them. Memories like hanging out with some of my old friends who lived in my neighborhood and from school. I remembered where I lived and what I did when I listened to this tunes.

So, do you remember the Bay City Rollers? If not, what were you doing during the 1970's? What songs or groups did you enjoy when you were younger?

Perfect Pancake Batter

Tuesday the 4th of March is Shrove Tuesday, and it is traditional to make pancakes to share with your family before giving something up for the period of Lent.

It is possible to buy ready made batter, but it is really so easy to make your own batter from simple ingredients.

I use 100g of flour (plain will do), one pinch of salt, one egg, and 300ml of milk to make my batter. It is a recipe I have had great success with over the years.

First, sift your flour into a mixing bowl. (This means to pass it through a sieve so the flour has a fine texture. Add the pinch of salt.

Then crack your egg into the bowl, mixing the yolk into the flour with a whisk. Add the milk slowly, a small amount at a time, whisking as you go along. As you add all the milk you are adding lots of air which helps make light pancakes.

Batter is usually better if has been left to rest for a short while then mixed again just before cooking.

 Cooking the pancakes:

To cook your pancakes, use a small frying pan. Add a small amount of oil to coat the pan, allowing it to get hot. Then take a ladleful of the batter and add to the pan. When the batter is cooked on one side, you can then flip the pancake over to cook the other side.

Eating the pancakes:

Pancakes are best served hot with a sweet topping of your choice. You can be healthy and add fruit, you can be traditional and add a dash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of sugar, or you can be naughty and opt for such toppings as ice cream or chocolate spread.

The truly adventurous may opt for a savoury pancake. Chilli goes great with pancakes. You need to use your pancake like a wrap and make a parcel around your filling. Cheese makes a great accompaniment grated over the top of the pancake.

Goths, and Bunnies, and Aliens, OH MY!

The second part of the Angels of Liberty interview is where things start to get very interesting. There's talk of everything from alien abductions to...BUNNIES. Obviously, through all of it, Voe and Scarlet keep their sense of humor...always.

I've included videos and links to their site with each part of the interview, so you should check them out, if you haven't already. The first to have material from Pinnacle of the Draco, but I will post a new one, from the yet unreleased new album before we are through!

To me, AoL are the "pinnacle". They are the pinnacle of modern Goth Rock, and the pinnacle of an openness and honesty unseen in the music world till now. If you like Goth Rock, you will love them, and even if you don't like their particular musical stylings, I assure you that you will still find what they have to say intriguing and enlightening.

Check out part 2 of the interview here...

Two legendary Fighters, Dara Singh and Ghulam Bux( Gama)

Two Legendary Fighters Dara and Gama Dara Singh and Gama (Ghulam Box) are two of the greatest wrestlers India has produced. Both are from a different era. Gama was born in 1880 and died in 1964 in Lahore, while Dara Singh was born in 1928 and died this year. It is perhaps difficult to compare wrestlers from two different eras, but the under current is that both believed in Indian pehalwani and Kushti. A Muslim and a Sikh Gama was a Muslim and Dara a Sikh, but both hailed from the Punjab and belonged to Martial clans. Gama was lucky that he found a patron in the Maharaja of Patiala who nursed the wrestler. Dara came in a different age and had money and branched off into films where he made more money.
Gama : World Champion Gama was the world Champion when he beat Stanley Zbyszko and was awarded the title Rustom-e –Zamana or world Champion. Who can forget that the American champion Benjamin Roller was pinned by Gama to the mat in 1:40 sec? In another bout he pinned him in 9 minutes flat. Dara also had his fair share of wins with his defeats of King Kong and Tarlok Singh. Both men are wrestling icons of their times, though the modern youngsters do not know much about Gama. Just imagine in a bout with the world champion Zbyszko he pinned him to the mat in 42 seconds. This is the stuff legends are made off.
Dara and Fame Dara Singh is more famous with his name in wrestling’s hall of fame, while Gama wrestled at a time when sports were not so popular. But he did enough to be remembered for all time to come. I think it is a matter of pride that the sub continent produced two great wrestlers and made India proud. Partition was the tragedy that took Gama to Pakistan. But that is part of the game and we can relish his exploits when he was the protégé of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. Give him some credit as well. Dara went one better and took to films where he made a pile. That is part of the game Published earlier on Wikinut.com Photos are from Wikifree commons

SpecFic Colloquium in Toronto, A Quick Peek- Make that Peak, Mountainous Sojourn into the Sublime

CBC Books - The Book Club - Mark Askwith, Space TV, science fiction

Mark's interview was a source of inspiration for Christopher Golden, New York Times bestselling author. Between  the two, the Q and A discussion rocketed and then whispered across a few of my favorite concepts (things)- updated in the absence of Mary Poppins.

Here are samples in quote form:  " What we are afraid of is more important than why we are afraid of it." -Golden in response to Mark.

"The world is less well defined when you reach into the tangible." -Golden in response to Mark

They also covered, adaptation , a prevalent part of life  beyond survival, but as the essence of quality life and modern civilization (my words and I hope this describes the idea well) It is one I contemplate as well.  The movement from the mundane, a veneer, to  personal apocalyptic or a character catalyst was explored, no spoilers here. This reminded me of Peer Gynt  and the layer effect that pertains to that tearful unraveling associated with onions. :)  It was evident that several different ideas came together in the one work of short stories, "Snowblind".

This book is now on my must read list after, "The Flood"  by Atwood.I was thrilled that the Spec Fic Colloquium attracted the talent of  two giants of the intellect and empathetic along with  Peter Watts,  Wendy Gay Pearson and Liana Kerzner. There were many more presenters but these are the  people that captivated my attention and pushed the boundaries in a direction that fit more precisely with my own ideas, in the broader sense.  I encourage you to go the the website or facebook page for SpecFic Colloquium to form your own opinion. Have fun!

This was an amazing pass time/enrichment  for a Saturday at  Round on Augustus Street. Roman Civilization springs to mind embellished by Arthurian tables.

Federal Government Tweaks ACA For State Health Exchanges

A policy change regarding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the state run health exchanges was quietly announced last week by the Health and Human Services (HHS) department.

The problems with the federal health exchange at www.healthcare.gov have been well documented locally and nationally. However, consumers attempting to sign up for coverage on the state exchanges have experienced technical issues which have prevented enrollment through the state exchange.

Currently 17 states haves their own healthcare exchange. Particularly problematic have been the exchanges in Oregon, Massachusetts, Marylandand Hawaii. The change in policy may allow consumers who were unsuccessful at enrolling in the state exchange access the federal subsidies and tax credits retroactively.

Consumers must prove they attempted to enroll in the state exchange unsuccessfully and then purchased an ACA compliant policy for 2014. Federal subsidies for the cost of the insurance could then be applied for the current policy as well as retroactively should the consumer satisfy the income requirements.

Creating Creativity With Words - A Creative Writing Experiment

I wrote an article in Bubblews called Becoming Creative - Using Words to Make a Story. You can see the total article on Bubblews: Becoming Creative Using Words to Make a Story. This article examines how you can use an article that someone else wrote, and use their words to make your own article.

This is not plagiarism when you make a brand new story or article because what you do is use every Fifth word in their article.

Let's repeat:
  1. find an article with at least 800 to 1,000 words or a chapter in a book.
  2. write down or highlight every fifth word
  3. use every one of those words in a article or story at least one time
  4. Post it here, there, and everywhere
So I found a group of article that made up 1,000 words, so I have 200 words to use. I am going to make it even harder for myself by not using any other words, just these 200. It might make it a little weird a story, with weird grammar, but I think it will be a fun way to create something different.

How about you? Do you want to try out this Creative Writing Experiment too?
