Reflections

No, I can't touch you... your skin is not you... I see right through. Your eyes like glass.
Marry me, carry me, lie to me... make me believe. I'm so in love... But what... the fuck... are you?
I can never seem to get... close enough. I'm constantly... chasing... the reflection of you.

Taking my breath away.
Making me think of you.
Everything...
compared to you... and FAILING!!!!!
Millions of others... between... you and me.
Even when... It's only you and me. And the TV screen.
Don't look at me... I'm not like you... I'm not beautiful... I'm only me.

No...
I can't touch you...
your skin is not you...
I see right through... I remember you...
When it was only... me and you.

Memorable Music of the 1980's

What memories do you have of the 1980s? What music did you listen to back then? I remember a few hits from those days?

In the 1980's where I grew up in London, my memories consisted of me listening to songs from groups or idols like Wham, Duran Duran, Madonna, Spandau Ballet and Michael Jackson. What songs do you remember from the 1980's?

Duran Duran, especially, stood out for me in the early years of the 1980's, because I was a teenager and was madly in love with this group. They were an English rock band who managed to have many hits that made the Top 10 UK singles charts. Do you remember them?

Duran Duran sang songs, such as, “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Girls on Film,” “A View to a Kill,” “Is There Something I Should Know” and “Wild Boys.” I loved each and everyone of their songs. What really stood out for me was their videos. Watching them became a huge thing for me. Have you ever seen any of their music videos? Did you enjoy listening to Duran Duran?

What kind of music stood out the most for you in the 1980's?

Do You Remember a Band Called the Bay City Rollers?

I remember my early years growing up in the 1970s in London. Do you remember the 1970s? What were you doing during those years?

I have a memory of a pop group called the Bay City Rollers and the clothes they wore in those years. Do you remember them?

The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop band that were popular in the 1970's. They were the biggest group since The Beatles. I remember this because my friends and I idolized them at the time. They wore a new type of clothing, which I remember wearing. I wore check bottoms that hung just above my ankles. My friends were wearing them too. These type of clothing really stood out for me.

The Bay City Rollers say in the 1970's in the UK. Their songs flew high up in the UK pop charts. Young teenage girls swooned over this young pop group including myself and my friends.

The Bay City Rollers' songs stood out of for me during the 1970's and each of the tunes have a real significance for me. Some of their songs like 'Bye Bye Baby,' 'Saturday Night,' 'Shang-A-Lang'  and 'Be My Baby' really did stand out for me.  The songs each bring back a memory for me when I listen to them. Memories like hanging out with some of my old friends who lived in my neighborhood and from school. I remembered where I lived and what I did when I listened to this tunes.

So, do you remember the Bay City Rollers? If not, what were you doing during the 1970's? What songs or groups did you enjoy when you were younger?

Goths, and Bunnies, and Aliens, OH MY!

The second part of the Angels of Liberty interview is where things start to get very interesting. There's talk of everything from alien abductions to...BUNNIES. Obviously, through all of it, Voe and Scarlet keep their sense of humor...always.

I've included videos and links to their site with each part of the interview, so you should check them out, if you haven't already. The first to have material from Pinnacle of the Draco, but I will post a new one, from the yet unreleased new album before we are through!

To me, AoL are the "pinnacle". They are the pinnacle of modern Goth Rock, and the pinnacle of an openness and honesty unseen in the music world till now. If you like Goth Rock, you will love them, and even if you don't like their particular musical stylings, I assure you that you will still find what they have to say intriguing and enlightening.

Check out part 2 of the interview here...

New study shows acne pathogen transferred from humans to grapevines -- National Skin Care Examiner

Seriously, this bacteria transferred from humans to plants--grapevines to be exact

If you have acne, drink the occasional glass of wine, are a fan of musician Frank Zappa, or just like weird science, here's some news you will find intriguing:
Italian researchers have discovered a new bacteria that colonized pimples and now colonizes grapevines. They named it after Frank Zappa. -- Examiner

This could be big news for acne sufferers, because as researchers study the pathogen in grape vines, they might hit upon a cure for the human bacteria. This is the indirect way many other cures and treatments have been found.

Today there are numerous treatments for blemishes, pimples and zits--some effective and some not so much--but there is currently not a cure for acne.

While we wait for an acne cure, the new bacteria study is certainly interesting news for wine drinkers, music buffs, science geeks, and those who suffer from acne breakouts. Read the article to find out why they named it after Frank Zappa!

Great Free Music From TV

If you tend to watch a lot of TV, especially network shows, and you love the music you hear, you might love today's NoiseTrade free download. The Secret Road "As Heard On TV - Volume II" features quite a few songs you might have heard. It's a wonderful sampler from shows such as:

• Nashville
• Ghost Whisperer
• The Neighbors
• Pretty Little Liars
• The Middle

While I'd love to have seen a few songs from The Originals or Lost Girl, I have to admit, I like the variety of here. There are 13 songs and the entire album is free. All you have to do is visit NoiseTrade from the link above and click Download Music at the top of the album image. You'll need to enter your email address and zip code. Visit your email for the download link.

NoiseTrade doesn't use your email address to spam you. You may receive promotional emails from the artists on the album and a few emails a week about the latest free downloads, but you can unsubscribe at any time.

Also, you can "tip" the artists if you want, but it's not required. However, if you really like the album, a little goes a long way. Plus, for this particular album, all tips go to the Musicians On Call charity.
